Pilgrim medallion.
12th-13th cc.

Large view.

Diameter 6 cm. One side of medallion shows flourished cross and another side shows saint warrior riding a horse and a small person behind him on a horseback. This medallion was sewn to clothes through six holes.

Preliminary search of analogies allows to propose that depiction shows miracleous salvation of child by St.Dimitry. The Greek inscription to the right from the rider also proves this. This unique find has undoubt origin from Byzance.
